Obtaining College Credit Grant
The process for obtaining college credits through Excelsior College, for students or active members who have completed their apprenticeship after April 2013. Here is a summary of the key steps and requirements mentioned in the file:
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicable to those who graduated after April 2013 and meet the on-the-job training (OJT) and on-the-job learning (OJL) requirements during their apprenticeship.
Those graduating after October 2015 must have their OJT/OJL hours recorded in the Total Track system for verification.
Application Process:
Students or members must visit the National CCRS website to review approved courses and select those they want to receive credit for.
They will email their credit request, specifying the courses they wish to receive credit for.
Credit Approval Process:
ITI Transcript Services personnel verify the courses and OJT/OJL hours, and the coordinator lists the student’s class details and grades.
Afterward, an official transcript is created and sent to Excelsior College.
Student Responsibilities:
After receiving an email, the student must fill out an application, make a $50 payment, and mail the completed application to Excelsior College.
If additional transcripts are needed, they can request them for $12, or expedited for $42.
Excelsior College Processing:
Within 10 days of receiving the application and transcript, Excelsior College sends the requested documents.
Students can consolidate additional transcripts from other colleges for a $250 fee through Excelsior’s "One Transcript" service.
Additional Support:
Students are encouraged to create an Excelsior account and request official transcripts through Parchment if needed.
The document also includes Excelsior College's contact information for inquiries.
This process ensures that students can efficiently request college credits for their apprenticeship courses, provided they meet the necessary criteria.
